EPA Launches TSCA Chemical Inventory Online

18 March 2010

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has launched the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) chemical substance inventory online, free of charge for the public.

The inventory will contain a consolidated list of thousands of industrial chemicals maintained by the agency.

The TSCA inventory includes 84,000 chemicals manufactured, used or imported in the US.

Information will also be made available by the EPA on Data.Gov, a website developed by the Obama Administration, to provide public access to important government information.

In the coming months, EPA will also make available TSCA facility information and the list of chemicals manufactured to the Facility Registry System for the general public.

Until now, the consolidated public portion of the TSCA Inventory was only available for purchase from the National Technical Reports Library or other databases.
