Indian Aromatics Plant Contract Winner Announced

An aromatics complex in the Mangalore Special Economic Zone, India, costing Rs 2,035 crore ($448m) will be built by Larsen & Toubro for ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals.

After completion, the complex will produce aromatic products such as paraxylene and benzene, as well as by-products like hydrogen, heavy aromatics and LPG, starting from naphtha as a raw material.

The complex will have nine processing units, including the naphtha hydro-treating unit and the continuous catalytic regeneration and platform unit.

It is expected to be operational by December 2012, according to thehindubusinessline.com.
