LG Chem Plant Cuts Carbon Emission by 34%

Advanced technology has helped LG Chem to reduce carbon emissions by 34% from its petrochemical complex in Yeosu.

LG Chem's Yeosu plant has received 11 carbon credits from the Korean Government compared to 21 credits group-wide since 2007, according to Koreatimes.

So far the company has reduced 477,647t of carbon emissions, including the numbers in Yeosu.

The Yeosu facility cut greenhouse emissions by 301,576t from 2007 to the end of 2009.

In 2007, the plant only managed to reduce 44,561t of carbon emissions, however, in 2008 and 2009, it reduced carbon emissions by 109,916t and 147,099t, respectively.
