An anti-dumping duty of $213.34 per tonne may be imposed by India on barium carbonate imports from China to protect the domestic industry.
The Indian Commerce Ministry's Directorate General of Anti-Dumping and Allied Duties (DGAD) has concluded that China has been supplying barium carbonate below its normal value, according to the news agency PTI.
The DGAD recommended a duty in the range of $121.31 and $213.34 per tonne.
The DGAD had probed into the dumping from China and had investigated the issue during 2008–09.
Between April 2009 and February 2010 11 anti-dumping duties were imposed on Chinese firms in India.
