ExxonMobil Launches China Chemical Tech Centre
ExxonMobil Chemical has broken ground on its $70m chemical technology centre at Zizhu Industrial Park in Shanghai.
The 27,000m² facility will house laboratories and product demonstration capabilities to support product applications and enhance customer service throughout the region.
The centre is expected to start operations in 2010 and will employ about 200 people initially.
ExxonMobil Chemical Company President Steve Pryor said that the technology plant aims to increase the company's level of innovation.
"This new centre in Shanghai is an important step towards supporting the tremendous growth we anticipate in sales of our premium products," he said. "It will expand our ability to deliver innovative solutions to our customers in the region."
