Lanxess to increase glass fibre capacity in Belgium
Speciality chemicals company Lanxess is investing 15m in its glass fibre plant in Antwerp, Belgium.
The expansion involves the replacement of two glass furnaces and will see capacity rise by 10%.
Glass fibres are needed for the production of high-tech plastics, global demand for which are expected to increase by roughly 7% a year through to 2020, the company said.
The company's recent investments for high-tech plastics amounts to 90m, including the glass fibres expansion.
