Henkel has broken ground on a new 150,000m² adhesives facility in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park, China, as part of the overall strategy to expand its capacities in growth regions.
Upon completion, the new 50m facility will be the largest adhesives factory in the world with an estimated annual production of 428,000t of adhesives, the company said.
The facility is scheduled to begin production at the end of 2012.
As part of this initiative, Henkel's current adhesives production facilities in China will be integrated into the new factory, expanding capacities for existing and new technologies.
