Solvay and Sadara Joint Venture to Build Hydrogen Peroxide Plant

Solvay is planning to form a 50:50 joint venture with Sadara Chemical to build and operate a hydrogen peroxide plant in Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia.

Sadara Chemical is a planned joint venture company of Saudi Arabian Oil Company and Dow Chemical Company.

The new joint venture plant will supply Sadara with hydrogen peroxide, a raw material in the manufacture of propylene oxide.

The plant will use Solvay's proprietary hydrogen peroxide to propylene oxide technology, and is scheduled to be operational in the second half of 2015.
