Wison to Start Nanjing Methanol-to-Olefins Plant

China's Wison (Nanjing) Clean Energy Company is planning to start its 295,000t/year methanol-to-olefins plant at Nanjing in 2013, using technology from US-based Honeywell UOP.

The methanol-to-olefins technology, jointly developed by Honeywell UOP and INEOS, will enable the production of high-value petrochemicals from feedstock derived from coal or natural gas instead of crude oil.

The facility will also employ the olefin-cracking process, which further converts olefins produced during the methanol-to-olefins process to produce usable ethylene and propylene.
