Solvay to Build Speciality Polymers Production Plant in China
Solvay is planning to invest about 120m ($171m) to build a speciality polymers production plant at its industrial site in Changshu, China.
The new plant will be built next to the compounding plant that will manufacture polyphthalamide, polyarylamide and modified polyarylamide, which is currently under construction.
Solvay Plastics Sector group general manager Jacques van Rijckevorsel said the new production plant will enable Solvay to provide customers more high value-added polymers that will help them improve their environmental footprint and sustainability profile.
The plant is scheduled to become operational at the beginning of 2014.
