Petrobras Seeks Partner for Brazilian Petrochemical Plant
Petrobras is seeking partners for its R$4.94bn (US$3bn) Suape petrochemical project in northeastern Brazil, which is now 71% complete.
The facility will have three plants, producing purified terephthalic acid (PTA), polymers and polyester fibre, and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resins.
Petrobras is looking to sell stakes in the project to Brazilian and foreign textile and petrochemical firms.
The project will have a capacity to produce 700,000t of PTA, 450,000t of PET resin and 240,000t of polymers and polyester fibres a year, according to bnamericas.com.
