Saudi Organometallic Chemicals Company (SOCC) has selected Samsung Engineering to provide engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for its aluminum alkyls manufacturing facility in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
The manufacturing facility will be constructed in Jubail Industrial City, and completion is estimated for the third quarter of 2012.
The plant will produce 6,000t a year of Tri Ethyl Aluminum, the key co-catalyst used in polyolefin production.
SOCC is a 50/50 joint venture between SABIC affiliate Saudi Specialty Chemical Company and Albemarle Netherlands, a wholly owned subsidiary of Albemarle.
