The Teijin DuPont Films joint venture has restarted operations at its PET film plant in Ibaraki, Japan.
The plant was shut down following the earthquake and tsunami that struck the country on 11 March.
The second Teijin-DuPont PET film plant, located in Utsunomiya, will remain closed; it is expected to resume operations in late April.
The joint venture has increased production at its PET plant in Gifu to compensate for losses at the other two factories.
In addition, the joint venture is planning to use plants in China, India, and the US as backup.
