Gulf Petrochemicals Industries Company (GPIC) has reported a profit of $138m in 2010, an increase of $33m from 2009.
The company said that it produced 1,475,892t of ammonia, urea and methanol during the year.
In addition, the company's urea plant produced a total of 629,371t during 2010, its highest annual output since the commissioning of the plant in 1998.
During 2010, the company completed a plant turnaround, which involved replacing numerous equipment, systems and facilities with more advanced items to improve safety and reliability.
Due to this investment, the company achieved a plant utilisation of 105.8% and operational continuity of 100%.
