Ineos to Expand Ethylene Oxide Business
Ineos Oxide has announced a plan to expand its ethylene oxide and ethylene oxide derivatives capacity over the next few years as part of its strategy to grow its business globally.
As part of the expansion, the company is considering an investment in the US Gulf, which will expand its ethylene oxide, glycol and ethylene oxide derivatives capacity.
Ineos Oxide is considering various sites for the proposed plants, which would have a capacity of least 500,000t of ethylene oxide.
The company is also constructing an ethylene terminal in Belgium, which will have an annual capacity of one million tons.
Operation of the new deep-sea terminal, announced in July 2010, is estimated to start in 2012.
Ineos Oxide, part of the Ineos Group, is a producer of ethylene oxide and ethylene oxide derivatives, and propylene oxide and propylene oxide derivatives.
