Dhunseri Petrochem & Tea has delayed the construction of its proposed PET plant in Egypt for two months following turmoil in the country.
Construction work of the plant is now scheduled to begin in June.
The Indian company is planning to set up the PET resin plant at a cost of $160m in Port Said, Egypt.
The plant will have a capacity to produce 420,000t/year of PET and will cater to Europe, Africa, Israel and US markets.
Dhunseri Petrochem & Tea executive chairman C K Dhanuka said that because of local factors, there had been a delay in inspection by government officials and obtaining of necessary clearances.
"Construction work is expected to start by June 2011 while production will begin by the second quarter of 2012 -13," Dhanuka said.
