Braskem has reported a profit of BRL356m ($218m) in the fourth quarter of 2010, compared with a loss of BRL$1.374bn ($820m) during the same quarter in 2009.
The Brazilian company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation rose to BRL$1.1bn ($657m) during the quarter, up from BRL$786m ($469m) in the same quarter a year earlier.
The company reported a profit of BRL$1.9bn ($1.1bn) in 2010.
Braskem has reported a revenue of BRL$8.635bn ($5.1bn) during the fourth quarter in 2010, down from BRL$9.3bn ($5.5bn) in the previous quarter but up from BRL$8.206bn ($4.8bn) in the same quarter of 2009.
