Oxea to Further Expand Carboxylic Acids Capacity in Germany
Oxea is planning to build a new carboxylic acids plant in Oberhausen, Germany, which is scheduled to become operational by late 2012.
The unit will increase Oxea's carboxylic acids capacity by a further 40% over already announced capacity expansion projects.
In 2010, Oxea expanded the production capacity of its existing carboxylic acids plants and in December 2010, the company announced further expansion of the capacities by 20%, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2011.
The increase in capacity will address the growing demand for synthetic fatty acids in segments such as energy-efficient lubricant esters and speciality phthalate-free plasticisers.
