Braskem-Idesa to Build Ethylene Plant in Mexico
Braskem-Idesa, a joint venture between Brazilian company Braskem and Mexican group Idesa, is planning to build an ethylene plant in Veracruz, Mexico.
The joint venturee has selected the Lupotech T process technology from Dutch company LyondellBasell for the plant, which will be able to produce 30,000t/year of low-density polyethylene.
The plant is one of the three ethylene plants and the joint venture is planning to start in 2015.
The plants will have a combined capacity to produce 10.5 million tons of ethylene a year, using ethane gas as feedstock.
