Work Begins on Iran's Marjan Petrochemical Plant
Construction of the 342m ($467.8m) Marjan Petrochemical project has begun in Assolouyeh, Iran.
The plant will have a capacity to produce 1,650,000t/year of methanol and is expected to come on stream by 2015, according to tehrantimes.com.
Danish firm Haldor Topsoe will provide technology, engineering design, catalysts and technical support services.
Iran plans to produce 44 million tons of petrochemicals by the end of 2011, and aims to increase its output to 100 million tons by 2015.
