RS Roman Seliger Expands Portfolio of Breakaway Couplings with Pull Cables

Thursday, November 17, 2011 by RS Roman Seliger

With the expansion of its portfolio of breakaway couplings with pull cables (ABV-S), Roman Seliger is now offering nominal width DN 25.

From now on, hoses and hinged pipe brackets with a nominal width of DN 25 can be fitted with the tried and tested ABV-S series breakaway coupling without the need to use reduction couplings.

The ABV-S series breakaway coupling prevents accidents by protecting hoses or flanged systems such as pipework from excessive loads, also in case of non-axial forces.

In such cases, neither a drag nor bending force acts on the hose or pipe. The activation of the breakaway coupling occurs at a distance via a pull cable that is shorter than the hose or the pipe.

After the separation, the valves close, thereby preventing product loss or spillage from either the hose or pipe and, in this fashion, protect both people and the environment.
