CCI Receives Million Dollar Order to Supply Severe Service Control Valves for Ecuadorian Pipeline

02 February 2002

Rancho Santa Margarita, CA – CCI received a million dollar order from the Techint Argentina Headquarters for the supply of severe service valves to be utilized at their OCP S.A. pipeline in Ecuador.

The valves range in size from 8-in. (200-mm.) to 16-in. (406-mm), with design pressures up to 1870 psig (130 Barg), and at temperatures that range up to 200 F (93 C).

When installed, these valves will be located in the remote inland fields of Lago-Agrio in Ecuador through the Ecuadorian Andes mountains with drop heights of up to 900 feet (3000 meters) to the Marine Terminal on the Pacific ocean at Esmeraldas harbor. Severe conditions such as a viscous fluid and an ambient temperature that varies from 32 F (0 C) to 96.8 F (36 C), were some of the reasons that CCI’s advanced DRAG® multistage valve technology was chosen. Over a period of years, this technology has proven to be capable of reliably handling high pressure drops where required with low noise and vibration, a high degree of controllability, and long service life.

CCI is the world’s leading manufacturer of severe-service control valves and hydraulic and pneumatic actuators for coal, oil, gas, and nuclear power plants; the oil and gas producing and hydrocarbon industries; and pulp and paper plants worldwide. With headquarters in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, and offices worldwide, CCI also operates major design and manufacturing facilities in Winterthur, Switzerland; Osaka, Japan; and Kyunggi-Do, South Korea, Saffle, Sweden; and Vienna, Austria.
