James Walker develops, manufactures and supplies high-performance fluid-sealing products on a worldwide basis. We serve industry in over 100 countries with 50+ production, engineering and customer support sites, plus a network of James Walker companies and official distributors at the local level. Among other products and services, we are suppliers of packing for control valve stems, length-form compression packing for the stems of rotary and rising stem block valves, spiral wound gaskets and tension control systems.

FUGITIVE EMISSION CONTROL MEETING TA-LUFT AND IPPC DIRECTIVE

Our flagship sealing products for chemical plants are certified to the rigorous requirements of the German TA-Luft regulations, representing Best Available Techniques (BAT) under the European Union's Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) directive.

SUPAGRAF® PACKING FOR CONTROL VALVE STEMS

Supagraf Control is TA-Luft certified as a packing for control valve stems. Working life exceeds 100,000 stem strokes, and a five-ring set can reduce VOC emissions to 10ppm. Its exfoliated graphite construction provides a very low coefficient of friction to enhance smooth and accurate valve action. Supplied as split preformed rings for easy installation, this long-term replacement for PTFE V-type packing in control valves will handle hazardous process chemicals and hydrocarbon liquids or gases.

SUPAGRAF® PREMIER - COMPRESSION PACKING

Supagraf Premier is a cost-effective length-form compression packing for the stems of rotary and rising stem block valves. Manufactured from exfoliated graphite, and reinforced for additional extrusion resistance, it operates under harsh conditions where fugitive emissions from valves need to be reduced to well below 100ppm. TA-Luft certified, this packing is recommended for systems handling process chemicals, hydrocarbon liquids and gases.

METAKAMM® KAMMPROFILE GASKETS

Metakamm Kammprofile gaskets have a metal core with concentric grooves on each face, and usually a soft layer of sealing material bonded to both grooved surfaces. They seal flange faces on process plant pipe-work, vessels and heat exchangers at up to 1,000°C or 250bar, and operate well under fluctuating conditions. Metakamm® gaskets are certified to TA-Luft.

METAFLEX® SPIRAL WOUND GASKETS

Metaflex spiral wound gaskets will seal flanges where temperature, pressure, vibration or flow rates are beyond the capability of conventional jointing materials. They operate at temperatures from cryogenic to 1,000°C, and system pressures of high vacuum to 350bar. Metaflex® gaskets are certified to TA-Luft.

METCOM® GASKETS

Metcom gaskets are corrugated steel joints with concentric grooves on each face filled with graphite beads. These thin gaskets can replace sheet jointing in pipe runs and work at up to 650°C, or from vacuum to 400bar. They are certified to TA-Luft.

ROTABOLT® TENSION CONTROL SYSTEMS

RotaBolt tension control systems assure the safety and reliability of bolted joints and reduce their in-place costs, fatigue, vibration-loosening and leaks. Their ease of use and accuracy are unique in the delivering, conditioning and monitoring of applied bolt-tension in service as well as on installation.

OTHER SEALING PRODUCTS FOR CHEMICAL PLANTS

Mechanical seals and custom made cartridge seals from James Walker give reliable and low-maintenance service with viscous, abrasive, corrosive or high-purity media. We also refurbish all makes of mechanical seal.

Cut gaskets include Supagraf expanded graphite with exceptional chemical resistance and temperature capability, the Gore® ePTFE range including its new Gore universal pipe gasket, and our Fluolion® Integra grades of stabilised PTFE.

Gland packings for pumps and mixers include James Walker's Fluograf® and Fluolion SEQUEL® products, based on Gore's highly developed yarns. These are recommended for pumps handing aggressive fluids or speciality chemicals.
