Netherlocks developed Partial Stroke device for the world’s most compact actuator.

ATC (Actuator Technology Company) is manufacturer of world’s most compact actuator, which is accomplished by a very revolutionary design. ATC offers a patented and certified concept with following features:
- Output torque that meets the valve torque with a minimum of energy loss,
- Sub-sea to 100m,
- Closed and protected spring cartridge,
- Position indication,
- Material on request,
- Considerably smaller dimensions than typical scotch yoke type actuators,
- Etc.

In order to operate this unique actuator ATC is also able to supply custom made power-packs fully to the client specification.

In extension to the many services that ATC brings already, they were looking for a proven partial stroking mechanism, which should be in accordance to the IEC 61508 & 61511.

Since Netherlocks is well known for their FAITH (Fail Action Integrated Test Handling) systems ATC choose this company to design a partial stroking device that could be integrated in a unique way. Two systems are at the moment available; the mechanical- and the diagnostic type. The last mentioned is unique since it doesn’t test the actuator & valve only, but also the critical control components. Every test is archived and shows immediately possible damages in the actuator, valve or control components.
