From the first of July 2003 the EC Directive 94/9/EC (better known as ATEX) will be applicable for apparatus, which are working in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Netherlocks is market leader in mechanical valve interlock systems, which are for 99% applicable in hazardous areas zone 1 and zone 2. For this reason the whole valve-interlocking package is tested and evaluated in accordance to this directive.
Netherlocks mechanical valve locks has proved to comply with the Essential Health and Safety Requirements of Annex II of the Directive 94/9/EC relating to the design and construction of equipment for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. In accordance with directive 94/9/EC art. 8 (b-ii) the technical documentation is deposited with: KEMA Quality BV. (Notified body 0344)
Compliance with the Essential Health and Safety Requirements has been assured by compliance with:
- NEN-EN 13463-1: 2001 Non-electrical equipment for use in explosive atmospheres
Part 1: basic method and requirements.
- NEN-EN 13463-5: 2001 Non-electrical equipment for use in explosive atmospheres
Part 5: Protection by constructional safety.
