Industrial process plants have thousands of valves, some actuator operated, some manual operated.
Quite a number of the manual operated valves are large. This means that manual operation could take hours, and will bring a lot of strain on the operators' body.
Why are they not actuated? you might ask. The answer: they only need to be operated one or two times a year. No actuator is therefore needed.
However, since there are so many valves you still have a couple of large valves that need operating each day. This is time consuming and needs a team of operators.
