Operating a large gate valve, with or without gearbox, usually consumes a lot of the operator's time; it often takes hours to operate a valve from open to close. Therefore, it is also understandable that this "workout" could injure the arms, shoulders and back. Mounting an actuator to these valves is too costly, therefore many refineries, which are users of large valves, have selected the Netherlocks KMS.
This portable pneumatic actuator fits, in combination with a universal base plate, every valve. No extra brackets are required - just a simple push on and operate. The use of pneumatic air makes the actuator useable in every environment. The KMS guarantees that a valve is operated in less than 10% of the normal operating time and, furthermore, places no strain on the operator arms, shoulders or back.
