Netherlocks' Safety Locks for Precipitators

25 May 2004

Worldwide, many coal or wood burned power stations are still operational. In order to reduce emissions, the waste gas must be filtered. A practical way to do this is the use of high voltage filters.

The principle is based on electrically charged plates. The plates attract particles from the waste gas. After a while the plates have to be cleaned and to do this safety locks are mounted on the hatches and power switches.
A simple sequence is made. Firstly, all power switches must be turned OFF. The released keys are inserted in a key exchange panel and only when all keys are in are we able to release the keys for the hatches. Therefore, in no circumstance can an engineer can be killed or injured.
