HERMETIC-Pumpen GmbH has been dedicated to the invention, design and production of hermetically sealed centrifugal pumps for more than 50 years. Our pumps are designed for difficult pumping applications in the chemical and petrochemical industries, process technology, refrigeration industries and nuclear applications. The company maintains a world-leading position in the global market of seal-less pumps. Additional we are dedicated to positive displacement pumps for difficult process applications in the field of chemical and petrochemical industry. We can handle liquids with high or changing viscosities, low or high temperatures, abrasive particles, toxic fluids and combinations of the above.
Beside centrifugal pumps and positive displacement pumps, seal-less liquid ring vacuum pumps and compressors, for handling toxic or flammable and corrosive vapours are one of our specialities.
To ensure the safety and protection of plant facilities, personnel and the environment, HERMETIC pumps are constructed from the best available pump technology. The pumps are built according to strict regulations, e.g. EN 22858, ISO 2858, API 685, API 681 standards.

Hermetically sealed centrifugal pumps can operate with:
- Fluid temperatures from -120°C up to +480°C
- System pressures up to 120Mpa
- Powers from 1 kW up to 640kW
We have supplied more than 168,000 hermetically sealed centrifugal pumps world-wide for the most severe, toxic or hazardous applications in situations where absolutely no leakage can be accepted. Our pumps feature excellent MTBF-values. Thanks to the absence of any mechanical seal and roller bearing, our pumps avoid associated leakage and failing problems. Seal-less pump technology goes hand in hand with low life cycle costs and maximum availability of plants and systems.
Hermetically sealed centrifugal pumps are used for the most difficult pumping tasks:
- Hazardous substances (acids, ethylene oxide, toluene, aniline, hydrogen sulphide)
- Fluids with maximum vapour pressures (HC, liquid gases, propane, butane)
- Fluids at high and low temperatures in the temperature range: -120°C to +480°C

- High pressure cycles with liquid substances or super critical gases

Liquid ring vacuum pumps and systems are used to handle hazardous, toxic process vapours, like chlorine, phosgene, methylene chloride, aromatics, H2S, epichlorohydrine, benzene. For environmental protection, the pumps are also available in hermetical design, with permanent magnetic coupling or canned motor. Complete systems for vacuum creation and vapour recovery are designed to suit customer’s process, also in combination with root blowers, ejectors, liquid pumps, process instrumentation and control. Various materials of construction are available for corrosion resistance.
Positive displacement pumps are used for the most demanding applications:
- Abrasive and toxic slurry
- Polymer solutions with varying viscosities
- High differential pressure
- High temperatures
- Explosive media

With the subsidiary company HERMETIC-Pumps Inc., located in Texas, USA there is a service facility in North America at our customers' disposal. In the Asia Pacific region we have established a joint venture company in Dalian, China as well as a service facility in Shanghai, to support the expanding business in these markets.
