New PP-V Backing Flange

28 November 2002

The new PP-V backing flange is a lightweight in the Georg Fischer product range.
Georg Fischer launches a state-of-the-art all-plastic flange made of fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene. The new PP-V backing flange features a number of specialities.

The patent pending V-shaped groove in the inner diameter of the backing flange supports a longer lasting torque on the collar and ensures that the force is distributed evenly on the flange adapter when mounting.

The PP-V backing flange weighs only one third of a regular flange. This makes it particularly easy to mount and to handle for storage and transport.

The flange has the advantage of a high chemical resistance, hydrolysis resistance and very little internal stress (patent is pending for the injection moulding process). This provides you with a very high safety in your plastic piping systems.

Stabilisation against UV warrants a long service life. The reliability and longevity of the new flange make it suitable for a broad range of applications.

Additional features complete the flange and create real added value for the client. For example the positioning cams at the inner flange diameter and the bolt retainers in the bolt holes, which facilitate the mounting or the symmetric design that excludes inverted mounting. Information about dimensions, system types, materials, etc. can be read in every position.

There is a wide product range of backing flanges both for butt fusion and socket fusion with metric or inch measurements in all current dimensions from DN15 to DN300 ex stock.
