Gala Industries - Underwater Pelletizers and Centrifugal Dryers

Gala Industries Inc focuses on simple and practical pellet production technology for today's plastics industry. Gala is a leading manufacturer of centrifugal dryers and pelletizing systems worldwide and offers custom designed turnkey pellet production systems for thermoplastics, engineered resins, TPU, HMA and compounding applications.

UNDERWATER PELLETIZERS USED FOR COMPOUNDING, HOT MELT ADHESIVES AND REACTOR APPLICATIONS

Since the mid 70s, Gala has supplied underwater pelletizers for the plastics industry. Gala pelletizers are primarily used for compounding, master batches, hot melt adhesives, and reactor applications. More than 4,000 installed systems for throughputs ranging from 2kg/h to 15,000kg/h are a testimony to Gala's commitment, service and success.

With the successful introduction of the LPU™, MB 500™ and IS™, Gala has established new benchmarks in the development of standardized modular pelletizing systems, which permit economical and technical solutions for many applications.

LPU - UNDERWATER LABORATORY PELLETIZING

The heart of the LPU (Laboratory Pelletizing System) is the patented Gala Underwater Pelletizer (Model SLC) with self-aligning, spring-loaded cutter hub. The centrifugal pellet dryer and tempered water system designs incorporate several unique features to enhance the attractiveness of this small system for laboratory use.

Features included are fast cleaning, minimization of spare parts, ease of operation, easy mobility, low weight and compatibility. The underwater pelletizer, tempered water system and centrifugal dryer are mounted on a common chassis with swivel casters and are easy to move. The electrical control is accommodated in a freestanding modular control cabinet and permits an automatic start-up.

MB500 - TEMEPERED WATER SYSTEM

The MB500 is part of a compact underwater pelletizing system and is the first system specifically designed to permit fast product changes in masterbatch and compounding applications. The easy access, fast removal and simple cleaning of all system components characterize this system.

DRYING SYSTEMS FOR PLASTICS

In the early sixties, Gala launched its own centrifugal dryer. Since then, over 8,000 Gala dryers have been installed worldwide. These dryers are suitable for throughputs from 2kg/h to 70,000kg/h. Gala currently offers two dryer series, the standard "Easy Access" series and the "Easy Clean Low Noise" series.

DEMONSTRATION FACILITIES

Gala's equipment and technology are available to prospective customers who wish to test their own products with our underwater pelletizing systems and see for themselves the high quality of this technology.

In our demonstration facilities, numerous process trials are performed for Gala's customers every year. Gala's lab facilities are available to each customer for assistance in material development and R&D, as well as testing equipment for prospective purchase.
