Nima Technology, based in the UK, designs and manufactures high precision instruments for use in surface chemistry. Our product range includes Film Balances, Langmuir-Blodgett troughs and a range of dip coaters made to a large variety of requirements.

Nima products allow precise and accurate measurement of surface pressure/tension and efficient monolayer assembly. All Nima products have been designed to suit a variety of different purposes and are available with optional accessories to meet the needs of your particular project.

NIMA FILM BALANCES

Nima film balances are available in several sizes from 100cm² to 750cm². They are capable of pressure area isotherms.

NIMA LANGMUIR-BLODGETT TROUGHS

Nima Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) troughs are available in several sizes from 100cm² to 1,200cm². They are capable of the deposition of multi-molecular LB films onto solid substrates. Typically, these molecular layers consist of amphiphilic molecules such as fatty acids and lipids.

NIMA DIP COATERS

Nima dip coaters enable the controlled immersion and withdrawal of substrates into solutions - ideal for sol-gel type deposition or monolayer assembly. There is a wide choice of dimensions available in terms of deposition speed, wait intervals and number of beakers, as well as the physical dimensions of your slide.

Our standard DC–mono dip coater comes with one beaker and our DC–multi dip coater is available with a rotating 'carousel' capable of holding up to sixteen beakers. Hence fully automated dipping sequences can be performed. The large number of beakers on offer allows rinse sequences to be incorporated, so that the quality of deposited films is consistently uniform.
