WELDED PLATE HEAT EXCHANGERS, GX ULTRAFLEX AND WIDE-GAP PLATESTranter International manufacture more than 30 different sizes of heat exchangers plates, ranging in size from 0.03sq/m to 3.4sq/m per plate representing the largest range of plates available on the market. Our range encompasses plate heat exchangers with a capacity of up to 1,520m³/h. We come much closer than any other supplier to matching the precise heat exchanger requirements of any application. GX Ultraflex Plates - Our unique patented Ultraflex plate design features two angles for each plate size. Wide-Gap Plates - Wide-Gap plates are most effective in applications with liquids containing fibres or solids causing extensive clogging and downtime for cleaning. The plates have a channel depth two to five times wider than normal, permitting unrestricted passage of coarse particles and fluids containing fibres. Welded Plate Heat Exchangers – A solid solution for tough conditions. When you operate at extreme temperatures or pressures, which exceed gasket limitations, we have 100% welded plate heat exchangers that are up to your toughest tasks. They can handle liquids, gases and two-phase mixtures at very high pressures and at low and high temperatures. HEAT EXCHANGERS FOR COOLING SULPHURIC ACID OR CHLORINE FROM ABSORBERSThe chemical industry represents the greatest variety of applications for heat exchangers, reflecting the enormous variety of chemicals produced. Tranter International are capable of matching each application - from the cooling of sulphuric acid or chlorine from absorbers to applications involving fine chemicals, synthetic fibres, polyols, aldehydes, etc. REFERENCE CASE - COOLING CAUSTIC SODA / SODIUM HYPOCHLORITECooling of a mixture caustic soda and sodium hypochlorite in Eka Chemicals Bohus factory. In all chlorine alkali production facilities there is a reactor where chlorine is reacted with caustic soda to form sodium hypochlorite. This chemical has disinfectant properties and is used in swimming pools and water purification stations. The reaction between chlorine and caustic soda is exothermal, that is, heat is released as the reaction proceeds. The excess heat has to be removed, so the sodium hypochlorite is chilled in the Tranter International plate heat exchanger by cooling water. The model is a GX-91, which is tailored individually with exactly the number of plates that are required to ensure a proper and stable operation. The GX-91 is equipped with titanium plates, lined connections and EPDM gaskets that are resistant to the process chemicals.
