Stork Veco - Filtration and Separation Media

Stork Veco provides filtration and separation media to a wide range of users in the processing and manufacturing industries.

Our product range includes centrifuge screens, sugar screens, filter screens, micro precision sieves, cartridge filters, micro filters (with submicron holes), coffee filters, and filter media for filter elements, filter candles, metal filters, pressure leaf filters, spinpack filters and test sieves.

Stork Veco have been involved in the manufacture and supply of electroformed and photo-etched filters and screens for more than 75 years. Since its foundation in 1934, Stork Veco has accumulated considerable experience of producing high-quality electroformed screens.

Our products are primarily used for liquid and solid separation and solid and gas separation, and are utilised within the water, chemical, petrochemical, oil, gas, pharmaceutical, food and many other process industries.

Stork Veco is based in the Netherlands and is ISO 9001:2000, 14001 and 18001 certified.

ELECTROFORMING AND PHOTO-ETCHING FILTRATION

Stork Veco has developed high standards of performance in electroforming and photo-etching (chemical machining) filtration.

Electroforming and photo-etching are economical for both prototypes and high-quantity production, and are considerably more effective than stamping, EDM, laser cut, woven wire and non-woven filters. Stork Veco offers its own R&D department, which provides co-makership and constant new developments.

ELECTROFORMED SIEVES WITH SHARP SEPARATION CHARACTERISTICS

Unlike existing traditional filter media, Stork Veco's electroforming and photo-etching production methods offer rigid, homogeneous structures with sharp separation characteristics.

The perforations can be as low as 10µm, and come in a variety of shapes (round, slotted, triangular, etc.). They have high throughput and are easy to clean.

Specific advantages of electroformed sieves include:

• Avoidance of clogging with conical hole shape
• No hole deformation
• Design flexibility
• Increased thickness with preserved open area
• Long lifespan (up to 600 Vickers hardness)

CAKE FILTRATION SCREENS

The Veconic screen and the high open-area Veconic Plus screen are new screens with superior properties for cake filtration. These screens have a mirror-smooth working surface, conical holes which reduce blinding and clogging, and slots with absolute dimensions.

Tests carried out by customers in Europe show that these new cake filtration screens ensure improved filtration, longer filtration cycles and a longer lifespan, and require less maintenance. This provides significantly higher production efficiencies.

EXTRA-SMOOTH SURFACED ELECTROFORMED FILTER MEDIA

The latest development of Stork Veco is a very smooth filtration medium called Veconic Plus-Smooth. The nickel screen is characterised by a very flat and smooth surface on the working side of the filter, and the other side has a conical shaped outlet.

This provides easy cleaning with air, fluid or a scraper, avoids clogging, and gives good results when working in a backflush system. This filter medium is specially developed to create a high open area with small holes in a relatively-high thickness.

MICRO-PRECISION TEST SIEVES

Stork Veco has a complete range of micro-precision test sieves, which are being increasingly applied for the determination of particle size of a large diversity of products in laboratories; for control of running production; and for production itself. The micro-precision test sieves are produced in compliance with ISO 3310-3.
