Carbis high Efficiency filter bags are manufactured in all standard sizes, giving absolute rated depth filtration between 1 and 100 microns. Constructed from a composite of polypropylene microfibre media, particle retention is achieved to efficiencies of up to 99,98%. The high density of small diameter fibres compared to that of a standard needle felt enhances particle retention, leading to superior, highly efficient filtration.
Combined with our polypropylene Welseal ring, high efficiency filter bags are available with a fully welded construction, ensuring that no by-pass of process liquid can occur through needle holes, and eliminating any possible contaminations from sewing threads. Each layer is individually welded, giving enhanced filter bag integrity and seam strength compared to single weld construction methods.
The Filter bag also features an outer membrane, which prevents fibre migration into the filtrate as well as providing added support to the filtration media.
The high efficiency filter bag is constructed from FDA listed materials conforming to code of Federal Regulations 21 CFR Part 177, governing requirements for food contact applications. Major industrial applications include pharmaceutical, food, beverage and potable water.
High Efficiency bags are now being used in applications previously dominated by expensive cartridge filtration, due to higher dirt holding capacities, longer service life and lower overall cost whilst maintaining the required filtration efficiency.
Applications include toiletries, cosmetics, fine and speciality chemicals, electronics, water treatment, protection of membranes in reverse osmosis systems and as a pre-filter to low micron cartridge systems.
