Established in 1906, Massenberg was first renowned as a leader in rust removal and coating work on public and industrial buildings. In 1970, the company branched out into concrete rehabilitation, and is now one of Germany's top five specialists in this field.
Massenberg specialises in industrial structures, car parks, cooling towers and commercial buildings. It provides a complete service, from surface preparation, through repairing concrete with PCC and shotcrete / gunite, to adding a protective coating. The combination of concrete repair and corrosion protection is optimal for the large industrial sites that are found in the chemical industry. Massenberg has great experience in this area, having completed work in several factories all over Germany.
The company complies with ISO 9001:2008 standards and SCC**, ensuring that customers receive a professional service with a modern management style.
Reinforcement of concrete buildings
Massenberg is an expert in the reinforcement of concrete buildings and industrial structures. Factors such as air pollution or industrial climates can expose the technological shortcomings of a building, leading to a number of problems. When a building undergoes this type of increased stress, Massenberg's concrete reinforcement service may be required.
Historically important structures may also require Massenberg's reinforcement services. The company has contributed significantly to the conservation of a number of monuments and is a member of Quality for the Preservation of Buildings (GEB) and the Landesgütegemeinschaft (LGG). Massenberg has joined Bundesverband Korrosionsschutz (BVK) for corrosion protection.
Massenberg buys its materials as complete systems from several manufacturers, including Sika, Stocrete, MC Bauchemie, Hempel and International Coatings. The company is free to select the system that is most suitable for each individual job.
Massenberg specialists keep abreast of developments in the materials and methods used for concrete protection, and apply proven methods for concrete processes and applications. Visually appealing coatings can be applied to walls, ceilings and floors. Massenberg can fulfill requirements like antistatic / ESD, absolutely flat surfaces for decontamination reasons, or no-slip surfaces. The company also offers water-proof or water-vapour-permeable coatings with epoxide, polyurethane or acryl-combination bases.
Appropriate surface preparation is a prerequisite for applying surface coatings. The company has developed high-pressure water jet technology which it uses alongside traditional sandblasting and modern technology like carbon dioxide blasting.
Anti-corrosion coating treatment
Anti-corrosion coating treatment is one of Massenberg's specialities, and its experience in this field is continually expanding with every project executed. The anti-corrosion coating treatment process must be performed under optimal conditions that depend on a number of aspects, from accurate planning and a good knowledge of each coating system, to experience within the environment and the internal concerns of the builders.
Massenberg has more than 30 blasting units of all sizes for anti-corrosion coating treatment. It also has mobile halls with automatic abrasive processing, extraction and filtering as well as steam-ray devices and high-pressure spray devices in different dimensions.
Massenberg can treat large power industry buildings using mobile bridges or stationary scaffolding. This includes chimneys, cell cooling towers, pipe bridges and the interior and exterior of tanks. Areas covered include the chemical and energy industry, bridges, mining, sewage and harbour facilities, and general fabrication plants, such as automobiles.
