VSC - Vibration Analysis, Infrared Thermography, Dynamic Balancing and Ultrasonic Detection for Condition Monitoring

Vibration Speciality Corporation (VSC) manufactures, markets, and distributes products and services for the condition monitoring and maintenance fields of infrared thermography, vibration analysis, onsite dynamic balancing, mechanical / structural analysis, noise / vibration control and ultrasonic detection.

INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY

Our infrared thermography services include onsite surveys to detect abnormal temperatures signifying corrosion, damaged wiring, loose connections and insulation breakdown.

Our infrared thermography products include portable and permanent mounting infrared cameras and software for sale, lease or rent.

Machinery problems identified using infrared thermography include inadequate bearing lubrication or bearing wear, inadequate coupling lubrication or wear, leaking valves or seals and motor stator heat source emissions, indicative of possible stator (winding) problems, etc. Infrared thermography inspections are also useful in evaluating circuit wiring, transformers, electrical pot heads, insulators and heat loss in buildings and structures, valves, seals, etc.

VIBRATION ANALYSIS - DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS AND DATA COLLECTORS

Services in the field of vibration analysis include onsite advanced analysis and diagnoses and expert analysis at a fraction of the cost. We offer remote expert analysis: VSC provides the data collector and expert analysis - you collect the data and email, modem or mail the data to us. We also offer motor current signature analysis for diagnosing motor faults.

Vibration analysis products available to buy, rent or lease include the SV3X systems, which are state-of-the-art windows tablet PC computer-based two and four channel diagnostic-acquisition systems, and data collectors with ruggedized or standard tablet PCs.

ONSITE DYNAMIC BALANCING

Dynamic balancing services include balancing tolerances to within micrograms on rotors from 1g to 400,000lb - balancing every type, shape, and size rotor from turbines, rolls, expanders, compressors, fans and pumps. Dynamic balancing is used for balancing turbine rotors, (carrier) propulsion shafting, generators, rolls, etc. throughout the world.

Balancing is performed at our modern facility. Alternatively, balancing machines are brought to your site. Products include the SV3X or SDEC, with WinBalance software; dual, single-plane and no-phase balancing; 'hot' balancing hardware for balancing while the machine is operating.

MECHANICAL / STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS AND NOISE / VIBRATION CONTROL

VSC provides engineering for finite element and rotor dynamic testing on rotors and structures, as well as sound, noise and vibration control on disturbances created by machinery. Products include dynamic vibration absorbers, active vibration control systems and isolation systems.

ULTRASONIC DETECTION

VSC's ultrasonic detection service can detect leaking gases or fluids and certain electrical and bearing faults, utilising our ultrasonic detector products.

PERMANENT MONITORING

Services include installation/consulting/troubleshooting, and on-line and permanent monitoring systems. VSC's online systems provide immediate shutdown capability; alarming, local panels or the readings can be auctioned off to a DCS. Multiplexed systems for temporary or permanent monitoring are also available. VSC also provides the following:

• Fan, compressor and pump repairing, rebuilding and servicing
• Permanent torque, power, and alignment monitoring systems
• Reciprocating machinery web deflection monitoring systems, including systems for monitoring the wear on reciprocating machinery; VSC also provides web deflection services on reciprocating machinery

CONDITION MONITORING TRAINING

We offer basic/expert training in vibration analysis and control, infrared thermography, oil, balancing and ultrasound detection at your facility or ours. We use and develop MD CASE training software, which teaches vibration through actual case histories.
