StoneL FieldLink® Junction Modules Receive FM and CSA Approval

03 November 2003

StoneL's FieldLink® Junction Module (JM) series of environmentally hardened enclosures, suitable for extreme corrosive and hazardous process environments, have been awarded Factory Mutual (FM) and Canadian Standards Association (CSA) approval.

The JM Series of products, featuring a wide variety of bus networking capabilities, have become a building block for electronically integrated systems in the most unforgiving process manufacturing environments. Specific Junction Modules include drop connectors, switched drop connectors, relay modules, I/O modules, I/O modules with integral solenoid valve, power conditioners and special module configurations.

Compact JM series products feature rugged, double epoxy-coated aluminum enclosures with clear polycarbonate covers (optional) to show circuit status without opening. They may be used in explosion proof or general-purpose applications. Rated for IP67 and NEMA 4, 4X and 6, the JM series withstands rigorous wash downs and corrosive environments. Hazardous area ratings include Class I Groups B, C, D Divisions 1 and 2 and Class II Groups E, F, G Divisions 1 and 2. Clearly labeled, top insertion terminal strips makes wiring both quick and secure. The JM enclosure is available with 1/2" or 3/4" conduit entries.

The JM enclosure has passed special pressure piling tests simulating the extreme pressures caused by remote conduit ignition, so no costly seal fittings are required in either Div 1 or Div 2 areas. In addition, FM approved factory-sealed leads are available for the drop leg of the switched drop connector, making it possible to keep the bus energized during maintenance in Div 1 areas.
