Process Bus Networking Products and Services Slash Costs with New Wiring Concepts

09 July 2003

FERGUS FALLS, MN (July 8, 2003) – StoneL’s FieldLink® 2003 Bus Networking Reference Guide is now available. FieldLink bus networking products and related support services are designed to reliably interconnect process instrumentation into plant control architectures using cost-effective, standardized bus networking protocols. FieldLink products may be used in corrosive process environments and are certified for use with power limited protection concepts, further reducing costs and improving safety in hazardous areas.

The unique guide was designed to enable process engineers in a wide range of industries to learn about process networking protocols, understand hazardous area protection concepts as they apply to bus networking, build an optimized process bus networking architecture for specific applications, as well as review and specify a broad array of networking products.

StoneL FieldLink products support AS-Interface, DeviceNet, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus and Modbus protocols. Also included in the catalog are enclosures and power supplies, as well as training and design/installation services.

As bus networking evolves, StoneL continues to expand the FieldLink® program with new products that are uniquely suited for demanding process environments. For example, new FieldLink products with special hazardous area capabilities make it possible for processors to use power-limited and nonincendive circuit concepts to further slash installation costs and optimize performance. The FieldLink program also incorporates the application and training support required to effectively implement these concepts.
