GECMA Components offers a wide scope of HMI (Human Machine Interface) solutions for process control in the chemical industry. Our CHALLENGER product range of modern HMI can be used in different areas of basic, fine and special chemistry, as well as pharmacy and petrochemistry. GECMA's HMI products can be customised for use in both hazardous and normal industrial situations.

All HMI for hazardous areas are certified as intrinsically safe technology and designed as panel mount modules. Following this method, all visualisation and operation components such as displays, touch screens, card readers and joysticks can be used independently of any type of housing. No special purged or pressurised housings are required - every terminal can be configured following the requirements of the plant. Based on intrinsically safe technology, CHALLENGER HMI will never cause an explosion.

Certified by all relevant authorities worldwide (UL, C-UL, ATEX, IECEx, TIIS, GOST-R/GGTN, etc) all CHALLENGER components can be used in hazardous areas zone 1/ zone 2 and groups A, B, C, C (zone 1, Div 1). Designed for rough everyday usage, our HMI can be used in zones with temperatures ranging from -30°C up to +60°C (-22°F up to +140°F).

REMOTE TERMINALS

Designed as Remote PC terminals, our CHALLENGER units can transmit a VGA / keyboard / mouse signal from any type of PC up to 500m into the hazardous or normal industrial area.

Our modern displays (15in or 19in) use these signals for high-brightness pictures for process monitoring in the plant. For process control we offer various possibilities: intrinsically safe keyboards / touch screens / joysticks / trackballs / touch pads as well as special keyboards and customised housings.

EMBEDDED PCS

If intrinsic intelligence of a PC in the plant is a major requirement, the CHALLENGER embedded PC is one of the best solutions available. Running as a "Remote PC Terminal" and supported by our "Embedded PC", this solution offers every operator a wide range of work possibilities. Similarly based on a modular concept, these embedded PCs can be configured as follows:

HIGH BRIGHTNESS DISPLAYS

Our modern high brightness displays with 650cd/m² are among the brightest certified display types available.

Useable in normal environments as well as under direct solar radiation, this type of display offers a high-contrast image reproduction (contrast 500:1). Designed as panel-mount modules, these displays can be easily integrated in both our CHALLENGER PC terminals and our embedded PCs, as well as in various type of housings.

TOUGH BOOK SOLUTIONS, NOTEBOOK SOLUTIONS, TABLET PC SOLUTIONS FOR INDUSTRIAL USE

The new CHALLENGER Tough Book is designed for both normal and rough, extreme conditions in the chemical industry. As 2-in-1 solution it can also be used as a Notebook and Tablet PC. As a lightweight Tough Book, it is developed for a mobile visualisation and operation unit in normal and hazardous atmospheres. Equipped with a rotating / tilting 10.4 XGA display and a wireless LAN network connection as standard, it can be configured as follows:
