Endress+Hauser Reveals the Prosonic T FMU30

For over 40 years, Endress+Hauser has been the leading provider in the field of continuous level measurement with the ultrasonic measuring principle.

With the new Prosonic T FMU30, a compact sensor is entering the market that is particularly easy to service and maintain in view of its two-wire design, while also being distinguished by its attractive price. The menu-guided start-up takes place via a graphic display.

With the seven languages currently available, the simple start-up can, in most cases, take place in the local language, thereby providing extra assurance. All warning and alarm messages are shown on the four-line plain text display and guarantee fast remedy of problems. The envelope curve can also be shown on the display. This is an important instrument for measured value analysis for the time-of-flight measurement method. As the analysis results are displayed directly onsite, this ensures quick and accurate error diagnostics.

The new Prosonic T uses the extremely stable and proven software algorithms that are already implemented in the well-established Prosonic M ultrasonic level sensor. This software enables the capability of the sensor to be optimally adapted to the application, from the properties of the medium to the type of container, which provides additional process reliability. In addition, the new software enables interference elements, such as agitators, conductors and nozzles, to be suppressed or mapped. This mapping prevents the sensor from reacting to such ob-stacles and permits non-contact measurement even in confined installation condi-tions.

As a cost-effective all-round instrument, the Prosonic T is suitable for a wide variety of applications in liquids and bulk solids. The level sensor covers a maximum measuring range of 8m in liquids and 3.5m in bulk solids.

It is available with a 1½in and 2in process connection and is designed for temperatures from -20 to 60ºC. As a result, the range of applications extends from monitoring levels in sewage treatment plants and process water tanks to measuring applications for loading, storage, and buffer tanks.
