28 February 2007

Bostik has announced an exclusive agreement with SpecialChem to offer an online resource on the use and the benefits of Silyl Modified Polymers (SMP) adhesives on www.omnexus4adhesives.com.

The two companies have jointly developed a unique SMP adhesives technical centre to foster new ideas and provide development engineers solutions around application development projects. The technical centre covers the broad application fields of SMP adhesive; specifically, transportation, marine and building and construction applications, where their unique set of properties makes SMP adhesives the leading technology.

"We are pleased to partner with SpecialChem to promote the value and benefits of Silyl Modified Polymers (SMP) adhesives and help customers to make the best material choice when using adhesives for construction and transportation applications," said Arnold van den Berg, product manager, Bostik.

"SpecialChem is proud to have Bostik, with its SMP adhesives speciality materials, as one of the first partners of its brand new Omnexus4Adhesives platform, which is dedicated to formulated adhesives performances and technologies. They perfectly match our mission of providing development engineers with a unique source of innovation and solutions." said Bernard Hasson, SpecialChem founder and CEO. "We are very excited to offer a new source of information online to help non-adhesives specialists in the selection of the best technology to efficiently bond and fasten their material parts."

Applicators, end-users and OEMs will find all the information they need to easily select and apply SMP adhesives in their specific application. Many case studies from the transportation and construction industries are also displayed to identify specific areas where SMP adhesives are clearly the best green solutions for easily bonding large metallic structures.
